The result is a plot that feels a bit more thriller than epic, and a very consistent cast with lots of characters with plenty of history, led by Tavi’s aunt and uncle, Isana and Bernard. He’s fighting for it, and for much of Furies of Calderon he doesn’t even know what exactly the small threats he’s fighting means. The biggest is that Tavi, our plucky farm boy hero, isn’t leaving home due to the great clash of good vs evil. ![]() The characterisation, the prose, the type of events occurring, the idealism – it’s pretty much all here.
